Therapy (a.k.a., counseling or psychotherapy) is the treatment of mental or emotional problems. It is, essentially, used to help individuals, couples, or families reach their recognized version of "normal". Therapy clients are looking for RECOVERY. This could include (but not limited to) recovery from depression, anxiety, anger, behavior problems in children, and self-esteem problems. If necessary, the past and present may both be addressed to aid in healing. As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, I will utilize a cognitive-behavioral approach to help you reduce your symptoms and replace them with coping skills that can help you evolve instead of escape.
